Configure 3CX 15

This article describes configuring the 3CX Phone System Version 15 for use with Flowroute.

Before you begin

  • You will need your Flowroute SIP Credentials. These can be found on the Interconnection > Status & Setting page of Flowroute Manage.
  • The Flowroute DIDs you want to configure for the 3CX 15

Set up SIP Trunks

  1. In the 3CX Management Console, click SIP Trunks in the left-hand navigation pane, and then click Add SIP Trunk. 

    The Add SIP Trunk / VoIP Provider Wizard appears:

     

  2. Add the following information to this page: 

  • Select Country: US 
  • Select Provider in your Country: Flowroute 
  • Main Trunk No: Your primary outbound CID or DID. 
  1. Click OK

    The Authentication dialog box appears:

     

  2. Add the following trunk authentication information: 

  • Type of Authentication: Register Account based 
  • Type of Authentication: Your Flowroute SIP credentials username, found on the Interconnection page of Flowroute Manage. 
  • Authentication Password: The password associated with your Flowroute SIP credentials username, found on the Interconnection page of Flowroute Manage. 
  • 3 Way Authentication: This check box should be cleared
  1. Click OK

  2. Next, configure Routing of calls to Main Number details. 

     

    NOTE: This is required, even if for outbound-only usage.
  3. Set the following information: 

  • Main Trunk No: Enter the main trunk telephone number. 
  • Destination for calls during office hours: Select Extension from the drop-down list box, and then from the drop-down list below this select the extension to which calls should be routed during business hours.
  • Destination for calls outside office hours: Select Extension from the drop-down list box, and then from the drop-down list below this select the extension to which calls should be routed after the close of business. 
  1. If you have additional DIDs to configure to this trunk continue to Add DIDs; otherwise, click OK at the top of the page. 

Add DIDs

  1. Click DIDs at the top of the page. 

    The DIDs dialog box appears.
     

  2. Click +Add DID, and in the DID/DID Number field, add each DID you want. Add numbers one-at-a-time, pressing ENTER after entering each number. 

    The DID/DID Number section will display all DIDs you enter.

    NOTE: You must enter the complete 11-digit DID (1+area code+telephone number) with no spaces between digits. You must prepend the telephone number with an asterisk (*)—for example, *12066614000.

  3. Click OK near the top of the page when done.
  4. Configure Outbound Rules.

Configure Outbound Rules

  1. In the left-hand navigation pane of the 3CX Management Console, click Outbound Rules. The Outbound Rules dialog box appears.  

  2. Click +Add.
  3. Create a basic rule to handle 10-digit dialing and routing to Flowroute in an e.164 format. In the following example, a new Rule, Flowroute 10 Digit is created:
  4. In the Rule Name field, enter a name identifying the rule, and in the Calls to Numbers with length of field, enter 10.
  5. In the Make outbound calls on section: 

    • From the Route 1 drop-down list box, select Flowroute

    • In the Prepend field, enter 1
       

  6. Click OK near the top of the page.
  7. Next, create a basic rule to handle international dialing and routing to Flowroute using Flowroute using an e.164 format.
  8. Click +Add.
  9. For this rule, enter a name identifying the rule in the Rule Name field, and then in the Calls to numbers starting with prefix enter 011. In this example a new rule, Flowroute INTL, is created.
  10. For this dialing format, you will want to remove the 011 from any international dialing and send that number (with 011 stripped out) to the Flowroute trunk. In the Make outbound calls on field, from the Strip Digits drop-down list box, select 3.
  11. Click OK near the top of the page.
