Forward a port on Grandstream IP Phones

This article describes how to forward a port on Grandstream IP phones.

To forward a port:

  1. Log on to the device.
  2. Click the Basic Settings tab.
  3. Enter your network details on the Basic Settings page.
  4. Click Update at the bottom of the page.

You are prompted to reboot the device.

  5. After the device reboots, configure the RTP Port.
  6. Click the Advanced Settings tab.
  7. Enter the local RTP port. By default, this is set to 5004

NOTE: If you have multiple phones then the ports will need to be set with port numbers in intervals of two. For example, the first phone would use port 5004, the second would use port 5006, the third 5008, etc.

  8. Next, configure the SIP port.
  9. Click the Account 1 tab at the top of the page.

NOTE:If your account already has a name, that name will be displayed on the tab instead of Account 1. In that case, click the name of your account.

  10. In the local SIP port section set the SIP port. The default value is 5060

NOTE: If you have multiple phones then the SIP ports will need to be set with port numbers in intervals of two. For example, the first phone would use SIP port 5060, the second would use port 5062, the third 5064, etc.

  11. Click Update at the bottom of the page.

You are prompted to reboot the phone.

  12. Reboot the phone.

After your phone reboots, your phone is ready for port forwarding. After this you'll need to configure the router to use the ports that you have specified on the phone and map these so that the traffic is passed to the IP address of the phone.
